ZABRISKIE POINT

by Michelangelo Antonioni

Zabriskie Point is an unusual, visually stunning tale of youthful rebellion against the Establishment. The film starts in a quasi-documentary style showing a group of college activists discussing their political agenda and then moves on to the American desert, when Mark steals an airplane and flies over Death Valley and meets Daria. Mark is heavily involved in the protests, which are becoming increasingly violent, while Daria is traveling through the Mojave Desert to catch up with someone from her past. In the midst of the incredible lunar surroundings of Zabriskie Point, Mark and Daria fall in love. The score features songs from Pink Floyd, The Grateful Dead, Kaleidoscope, The Rolling Stones, John Fahey, The Youngbloods and Patti Page.
